Sedans might be getting phased out by other automakers, but Nissan retains a strong lineup of efficient vehicles that are perfect for a broad range of driving needs. For drivers of the Peace Garden State on the hunt for a great North Dakota Nissan dealer, make Ryan Nissan your first and last stop for all things Nissan. We’re conveniently located in Minot and offer a vast selection of new and used vehicles, including the exciting 2023 Nissan sedan lineup.

An array of improvements and features await each of the five available Nissan sedans, which include the Versa, Sentra, Altima, LEAF, and Maxima. Technology is user-friendly no matter which model you have your eye on, and all Nissan vehicles are outfitted with an abundance of advanced safety and driver assistance tools courtesy of the standard Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite. Whether you’re a solo commuter or have a family to transport, you and your loved ones will be secure in any of these great sedans. Let’s take a closer look at the 2023 lineup and everything they have to offer drivers.

The 2023 Nissan Versa

First, we have the Nissan Versa, a small sedan that offers great value as well as a host of innovative features and technology. Practical from head to toe, it’s gotten a light exterior refresh for 2023, which includes a modernized front fascia for a more contemporary look. Other exterior changes include a new Gray Sky Pearl paint option for the SV and SR trim levels, an improved V-motion grille, and a 17-inch alloy wheel design for the SR trim. A few new available tech gadgets are also added for the model year, including an 8-inch touchscreen display, a wireless device charger, and Wi-Fi hot-spot connectivity. Should you decide to add the S Plus Package, your Versa gains smartphone app integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

In the front row, you get best-in-class headroom and legroom, and the second row is equally generously spaced. The trunk offers up to 15 cu.ft. of cargo space for storing all your goods, which is quite impressive for its subcompact size. For models equipped with the Xtronic continuously variable transmission, you get an impressive EPA-estimated fuel economy of 32 MPG in the city and 40 MPG, ideal for those daily commutes to work. The Versa’s standard 1.6L inline-4-cylinder engine serves up 122 hp and 114 lb-ft of torque, creating an efficient driving performance that doesn’t become dull.

The 2023 Nissan Sentra

There are not too many changes to the 2023 Nissan Sentra, but that doesn’t make this exceptional compact sedan any less thrilling. Given that the Sentra was just overhauled for the eighth generation in 2020, the lack of major changes is not all that surprising. Still, the Sentra provides a refined performance on the road with its sporty suspension composed of an independent front strut and multi-link rear suspension, which aim to provide a high degree of comfort.

The front and rear stabilizer bars enhance the drive as well, and the standard all-season tires do a good job of soaking up and dispatching bumps in the road. An 8-inch infotainment touchscreen display with the NissanConnect system comes on every trim level save for the base S trim. The SV and higher trims include two USB-A ports and one USB-C port for connecting your devices.

The 2023 Nissan Altima

A popular pick among buyers, the Nissan Altima strikes a good balance between innovation and affordability. It comes with several key changes for the 2023 model year. First, it features the aforementioned updated V-motion front grille design, a fresh new logo, and four aluminum-alloy wheel designs. It also adds the Gray Sky Pearl color to the exterior and top of the Garnett Pearl Metallic. Inside the Altima, you can now get a 12.3-inch HD color display, available on the SV trim level and is standard on the SL and SR VC-Turbo. The SR models gain sleek new dual-stitch interior fabric and different finishings on the instrument panel.

Nissan equips the Altima with plenty of available safety and driver assistance tools, with Nissan’s Safety Shield 360 coming standard and packing automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning, and high beam assist. ProPILOT Assist can be added to give you an enhanced cruise control system for those long drives on the open highway. You can opt for intelligent all-wheel drive on higher-end trims, giving you enhanced traction and stability with hill start assist, making this sedan a solid driver in inclement weather conditions.

The 2023 Nissan LEAF

If you are considering making the leap to an all-electric sedan, consider the new Nissan LEAF, an important model in the Nissan lineup, signaling the manufacturer’s shift to electrified power, which is continually improving, year after year. The refreshed LEAF receives new 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels on the high-end SV Plus trim, plus other revised exterior styling cues.

The LEAF is treated to revised headlights, bumper molding, and front grille on the outside, while Nissan’s shiny new logo is found throughout the vehicle, inside and outside, including on the front exterior (which, awesomely enough, lights up). Aerodynamics are improved by reshaping the rear under diffuser, tire deflectors, and rear spoiler. The LEAF’s cabin gets treated to revamped upholstery; gray finishers accompany the black cloth upholstery on the S, while, on the SV PLUS, there are gloss black finishers.

The LEAF’s strongest point is undoubtedly its electric range. The LEAF delivers up to 149 miles of electric range on the S trim level’s 40 kWh battery or 212 miles on the SV PLUS’ 60 kWh battery. This should suffice for most drivers, especially those making short to moderate daily trips. Like other Nissan vehicles, the LEAF is also loaded with the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite, while ProPILOT assist is featured on the SV Plus model.

An orange 2023 Nissan Maxima is shown from the front.

The 2023 Nissan Maxima

Last but not least is the Nissan Maxima. This sedan is known for its engaging driving performance and abundance of included tech and safety features. Of all the sedans, it has the highest price tag, but it still feels like a real bargain when you consider everything that comes along with it. A few new styling elements come on the 2023 Nissan Maxima, such as the previously mentioned redesigned Nissan logo throughout the cabin and body. Inside the Maxima Platinum trim level, you will find illuminated kick plates and semi-aniline leather-appointed upholstery for a more luxurious vibe.

The well-mannered Maxima is a comfortable and enjoyable commuter vehicle with an impressive combined fuel economy of 24 MPG. It’s also worth noting that the 2022 Maxima was rated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) as a TOP SAFETY PICK+; given that the Maxima is mostly unchanged this year, it should retain that title. Having Nissan Safety Shield 360 as standard equipment helps boost safety ratings.
